Plan - You need to have a plan so as to be able to achieve your
vision and goals. The plan needs to be written down to act as a
guide.

Are Persistent - You cannot achieve success overnight or in a
week. You need to stick to your lane and do everything necessary
to achieve success. You will encounter failure, but that should
not discourage you. As long as you don’t quit, you cannot be
termed as a failure. Even blind squirrels find acorns because of

See failures as a stepping stone to success - this point is tied
to the one above. Failure shouldn’t give you a reason to quit.
Yeah, it can discourage you, but it shouldn’t be a reason for
you to quit. Give yourself time for pity and analyze why you
failed. After this, draft a way forward and move on.

Step out of their comfort zone - you might be nervous about

been there before, but you need to gather confidence and stretch

Stop Multitasking Because it's Costing You Time And Money.

Forget multi-tasking and start doing ONE thing really WELL

Yes, you can sing while taking a shower, and you can listen to
music while walking and planning your day. But when it comes to
the really important stuff, forget multitasking because it's
costing you time and money.

Let's say you're answering emails while talking on the phone. A
great example of multitasking, right? Wrong. In this case you're
not doing two things at once – rather, you're alternating your
attention between the two tasks. You can't listen to the person
on the phone while you're forming your email response. And you
can't formulate your thoughts to speak back to the person on the
phone while you're reading the next email. So what you end up
doing is a little bit of task A, then a little bit of task B,
and back and forth. And neither task is done well. The person on
the phone can tell you're not listening, and the email response
you write misses the mark.

This goes for any task that you can't put on autopilot. You can
shower, walk, run, drive, make coffee and many other tasks
without thinking about them because they're routine and you've
performed them many times before. But when you're doing anything
that takes real thinking, it's best to focus just on that task
and nothing else.

And avoid distractions. Checking your email, answering the phone
and even getting up to get a cup of coffee and take you off
track. You lose momentum and you have to backtrack to see where
you left off. A recent study of office employees demonstrated
that when their work was interrupted, it took them an average of
25 minutes to get back into it.

Anything that requires engaged thinking – writing, reading,
speaking, etc., is not something you should try to juggle
because it will actually cost you MORE time and provide less
than stellar results.

So even if you have to lock yourself in a room, disable your
email and turn off your cell phone to keep from getting
distracted, I suggest you do it. You can answer those emails and
return those phone calls later when your work is completed.

The main problems with magical thinking all seem to be related.  The cycle goes something like this: It starts with not being realistic or logical in our thinking as far as what we can reasonably expect. There are not many places you can go from there, other than to become disillusioned when it doesn't happen.  The result is usually quitting before giving it a fair chance when we don't see instant results. While it is true a lot of the internet marketing 'hype' may make it seem like there is no work involved in succeeding, you have to 'read between the lines' if you are thinking logically: Of course money will not pour out of your computer starting tomorrow if you just buy this gimmick or join that program.  

Are the marketers lying?  Actually no, because people have made money on the Internet and if they have experience and a 'list' it IS very possible that someone could make money right away. What they are saying is it is possible.  However you must consider that just because someone else has done it in X number of days, that does not guarantee you will also; and by the same token just because the majority fail, that does not mean you will also fail.

The thing is that you have to be willing to learn and to work.  You have to be willing to give it time - many people are in such a hurry that they refuse to do anything that is necessary once they find out they will not become wealthy instantly by osmosis.  These are the ones that do not think realistically.  They want to believe in a fairy tale or fantasy. Even if you say that the fairy tale is actually quite possible if they are willing to invest their time and effort, they are not interested anymore. One way to experiment is to join a couple free Internet marketing programs to get in behind the scenes.  If you don't like what you see, cancel it within 30-days or during whatever trial period they may offer.  If it is something you think you could do at least to learn the ropes, and they require an inexpensive upgrade to stay in, then go ahead and pay for it. Again, it doesn't have to be your dream business - just look at it as a learning experience.

It is likely that the program will have instructions and resources that you can use as a member.  Read all about it - what are they talking about? Learn everything you can.  When you see terminology that you don't quite understand, just go to a search engine like Google.com, Bing.com or Yahoo.com - put in the phrase there and see what you can learn. However, again - don't get hung up on learning.  Just get as much information as you need to take action.  Then see what happens.  

As time goes by if you stick with it, and maybe even join a few more programs, you will keep learning more and more.  For example join programs that offer various tools to help you advertise your online business.  Learn how they work and try them out. Most are very easy to use if you can just follow basic instructions.

Don't worry about becoming a millionaire over night at this stage! Don't get in a rush - if you have to pay a measly $10 here or there - look at it as the cost to learn something new.  Sure it is a gamble, but so is waking up every day.  We do not know what will happen or how things will go - in our favor or not. We do not let this keep us from putting our best foot forward! 

Be sure to save all receipts because if you actually pursue this, everything is a business tax deduction if you itemize your taxes.  Be sure you can document everything that you claim.  You can do this even if you do not make a profit.  Check the federal and state tax websites for the current laws and regulations every year to be sure, but usually you can claim expenses for a few years without making a profit.  Beyond that however, they will deem it a 'hobby' not a 'business' and you will not be able to claim those deductions.

To minimize the stress you may be feeling about whether or not you will be able to create a successful home business, you could even look at this as a hobby right now.  Still, keep the receipts where you can find them, in case you see that this is really feasible and you could start earning extra money from home, and itemizing deductions!  Even if you work at a full-time job and pay income taxes there, you can still file to claim deductions for a home business (and of course report any extra income you may receive).
